“Honey, I’m pregnant!"

30 seconds after that life changing call ended, my chest got tight. Really tight. The next eighteen years flashed in front of my eyes. In a microsecond I knew that if I didn’t immediately carve out time for myself, I’d wake up in eighteen years having given all my energy to my family, my corporate job, and everything else but me.

By the end of the week, I was picking up my forever dusty guitar at 5 AM. That hasn’t stopped for over ten years now. Everyday I become the best guitar player I’ve ever been in my life. More importantly, I cannot recommend more the value of finding a way to ‘pay yourself’ first everyday, before you service everyone you love around you for the rest of the day.

‘Kind of Blue’ has always been special to me. I remember exactly when I was introduced to the music. I can’t explain the connection, but it is something I can’t deny. I come to it, then leave it. And then it comes back to me. Over and over. ‘Flamenco Sketches’ is my favorite.

On a work sabbatical in 2022, I had a burst of inspiration. Could I reproduce the album on guitar? That question led to ‘Kind of Blue for Guitar.’ I am currently on the journey of making this book a reality.
